Returns
Q: What is your return policy?
A: Our standard policy is similar to other stores. Due to the nature of electronic files, downloaded products are NOT returnable or refundable. If you have any trouble opening your files, please check the "downloads" FAQ" below. If there is a defective product, we are happy to work with you to resolve the problem. Please use our contact page if you have any questions.
Original artwork and other physical items have a 30 day Money Back Guarantee. If you are unhappy with any products you receive, you may return them, undamaged, within 30 days of the date we shipped them, and we will cheerfully refund your purchase price. Products must be received back to digitalGinger in the same conditions as they were sent to receive a refund.
Items ordered through the digitalGingerGift Boutique are paid through, manufactured and shipped by a third party company and fall under the CafePress Shipping and Return Policies. Please contact them directly for questions, other than general feedback on the products. You can check the status of your Gift Boutique orders with them here.
We reserve the right to exchange the product, replace or repair your item or issue a refund, depending on the situation.
Downloads
Q: (Download Problem or Corrupt Files) My download never finishes or the downloaded product (zip file) will not open and I get a message that the file is corrupt or an invalid archive error message. What does this mean and how do I get the file?
A: Sometimes a file will not download completely (but you will still see a file), usually due to a connection error or slow connection. This is common, and does not mean the file on our computer is bad. Other times the download process just seems to stop or shut down. Firewalls (even the Windows Firewall), anti-virus software (like Norton) and other programs (the security settings in your browser), wireless connections and slow connections can all stop a file from downloading completely. Here are steps to try:
- Delete the file if one appeared on your computer. If not, goto # 2. Also, delete it from your trash bin too. THIS IS IMPORTANT! If you do not delete all versions of the file, a new replacement will not be made when you try again, and your computer will try to pull from the old file.
- Temporarily shut off all of your personal firewalls or anti-virus software while your try to download again from your account's download link. (This really does work for many people!) Also, you can check the secuity settings in your Browser. Set to MEDUIM.
- Try a different computer (home, work, friend.)
- If your download still has a problem or your download time has expired, just go to the contact page and fill out the form explaining your problem. We will be happy to help you!
Passwords
Q: (Forgotten Passwords) I
forgot my password for the shop, and when I clicked the "forgot my password" link in the store login area, I never received the email it said was sent. How do I login?
A: The "lost password" feature works for most people, but occasionally emails have trouble getting through. First, check your spam folder to see if you have an email from digitalGinger.
If the email is not there, please go to the contact page and fill out the form explaining your problem. Make sure to include your full name and email (that you used to register with) so we can look up your account. We cannot access your current encrypted password, but will reset your old email account with a new temporary password and send it to you along with instructions.

Shopping
Q: How do I purchase and receive downloadable products (including Free ones)?
A: Here are the easy steps to access products for download. Free items must also be downloaded through the shopping cart system. They have the same checkout sequence as a paid items, but will add any charges in the shopping cart. To prevent spam and attacks, all customers must register or sign-in to reach paid and free downloads.- From the homepage (www.digitalGinger.com), click on the "Shop" link on the menu bar.
- You should will see categories of products to the left and new products images at the bottom of the screen. Search categories and click the image of a product you would like to download.
- On the product page, scroll down and click the "Add this to my cart" button. ( If the item is free so you will not be charged.)
- You can click "checkout" or "continue shopping" ( to add more products) from here.
- After clicking "checkout" you will be asked to sign-in. If you are a new customer, click the sign-up button, otherwise use your login information.
- After sign-up or login you will see steps 2 and 3 for your order. Fill in required payment information or just click through the bottom buttons ("Continue shopping", and "Confirm order") if all items are free.
-You will see a list of your paid and free purchases and a "Download" button by each item. Click each "Download" button to save the product to your computer. Please choose SAVE AS and not OPEN in your download box to make sure files download correctly! Make sure to take note of where you are saving the file, so that you can find it again at a later time. The computer will then save the file to your hard drive.
- You have 7 days to download items and 5 tries per items before the download expires.
Scrapbooking
Q: What is digital scrapbooking?
A: Digital scrapbooking is the same as paper scrapbooking, but you design and create your layouts on the computer using a software program such as Adobe Photoshop Elements. Instead of paper backgrounds, stickers, ribbons and elements, you use images of paper, stickers and elements and arrange them around your digital photographs. You type your journaling, just as you would in a word processing program. Its similar to making a poster or flier in Microsoft Word, but you use a software program made for design and graphics.
The benefits of digital scrapbooking are many!
- All your scrapbookign supplies are stored on your computer! No need for a separate desk (or even room) for all your supplies.
- It can be faster! Purchase "Quick-Page" templates and all you do is add your photo and journaling.
- You can share pages instantly over the internet. Use any photo sharing application or upload to galleries, like the member gallery at digitalGinger.
- When you want a printed album, there are many online options (such as Shutterfly), and you can print more than one. No need to make multiples of the same page to give as gifts. Make a page once and just print as many as you like!
- Save Money! Buy a digital paper or elements kit once and re-use as many times as you want!
DigitalGinger offers many digital kits that include background papers, ribbons, elements and even images you can use as photo frames, stamps and brushes for Adobe Photoshop.
Q: What is hybrid scrapbooking?
Many people use both their computer and paper products to create layouts and crafts. If you have ever used a computer font and printed text to put in your scrapbook, then you have already done hybrid scrapbooking! You can print any digital papers or product kits for use in paper layouts too! DigitalGinger also offers kits that are just for paper-scrappers and crafters, such as our "Printable Card Kits."
